Description
The five holiday houses at Glenlee are two miles from the villages
of New Galloway and St. John’s Town of Dalry. They are in quiet
secluded woodland well away from the road. They have been specially
converted from the old Home Farm buildings of Glenlee Estate. Set round
a central courtyard, each cottage is well equipped and comfortably
furnished yet still retains its own individual character.
From the cottages, there is a special woodland walk – the Glen – past two spectacular waterfalls and some fine tall trees.
We offer free trout fishing on our stretch of the River ken and other fishing is available locally.
Pets are welcome (at no extra charge) provided they are house-trained and respect the countryside.
Each cottage has its own open-hearth fire, and its own front door, privacy and car parking. Taking all five cottages at one time makes a great base for family gatherings and reunions.
Glenlee is an excellent base for exploring Galloway. There are shops
and pubs in New Galloway and Dalry. For walkers, the Southern Upland
Way is on the doorstep. There is a sporting 9-hole golf course at New
Galloway, and there is sailing, canoeing, wind-surfing and water-skiing
on Loch Ken. It is an excellent area for bird watching, with two RSPB
Reserves nearby.
The cottages are open from March to October for weekly lets
(Friday-Friday) and also short breaks. Winter lets by special
arrangement.
