Loch Ken
Loch Ken is situated
just north of the popular market town of Castle Douglas in the new
'walking destination' area of The Glenkens on the A713 Castle Douglas -
Ayr road.
For many years Loch Ken has been a popular
destination providing an abundance of attractions from the recently
launched and extremely exciting project the Galloway Kite Trail, a RSPB
project to release these exciting birds back into Scotland, to water
sports including sailing, waterskiing to name but a few with two
marinas offering excellent facilities.
Loch Ken has always been renowned for its fishing, especially coarse and pike and boats are also available from the marinas.
This
11 mile stretch of water provides an experience for all, bird watching,
walks, picnic areas or just a pleasant drive around the Loch, you will
be inspired by this scenic loch which will bring you back time and time
again.
